11 EASY ways to banish cellulite

Dreaded cellulite.

You’ve lost the weight and you’re feeling fitter and more confident about yourself, but there’s one annoying thing you want to banish for good – the appearance of your orange peel skin.

Cellulite is formed after muscle breaks or is stretched and pulled down causing fat cells to push up and give that horrible blotchy cottage cheese complexion under your skin.

But how do you get rid of it and make it never return? While it may not be possible to get rid of it forever, there are ways you can reduce the appearance of it and form a beautiful, smooth flawless complexion.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is pockets of fat that have squeezed between bands of tissue, called septae, that are under your skin.

Between 80-90% of women have cellulite yet very few men have it. This is because women have flimsier vertical septae that fat can more easily push through.

Whereas men have sturdier bands in a crisscross formation that keeps fat in place more effectively.

It doesn’t matter what size you are, both thin and heavy women get cellulite. However, the more body fat you have, the more likely you are to also have significant dimpling.

Antioxidant-rich foods are not only good in helping to reduce cellulite they are great for your overall health.

Antioxidant-rich superfoods include red, purple and blue grapesred berries (strawberries and raspberries), nuts (walnuts and brazil nuts), dark green vegetables (broccoli, kale, spinach), orange vegetables (sweet potatoes, butternut squash, pumpkin carrots), whole grains (brown rice), beans (black beans, kidney beans, lentils), fish (sardines, salmon, oysters, mackerel, tuna steak, wild rainbow trout, shark steak, albacore tuna, and herring).

Not only does regular exercise burn calories and reduces fat, but it also boosts circulation and can help disguise cellulite by increasing muscle tone under the skin.

Exercise helps tighten the skin and also reduce excess weight that can also contribute to orange peel skin.

Exercise improves lymphatic drainage, which carries toxins away from cells.  If drainage is sluggish it will contribute to cellulite and we definitely don’t want that!.

Exercises that focus on the thighs and glutes such as squats are great at targeting cellulite. Go low and slow for the best results.
