URGENT RECALL: Millions of kids’ water bottles have been recalled due to choking risks
Popular Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottle has urgently been recalled across the country!
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), over 5 million bottles have been pulled off the shelves.
Contigo bottles have been recalled
Contigo states in a notice posted to its Facebook page:
“Contigo identified that the water bottle’s clear silicone spout in some cases may detach from the lid of the water bottle.
“The incident rate of consumers reporting the separation of the silicone spout is very low and no injuries have been reported.
“Contigo has received 149 reports of the spout detaching including 18 spouts found in children’s mouths.
“We sincerely apologize to our consumers for the inconvenience. Child safety is of the utmost importance to Contigo and we have worked quickly to correct this issue and provide a solution.”
What to do if you have a recalled Contigo bottle
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled water bottles and contact Contigo for a free replacement lid.
If you purchased one of these bottle between April 2018 and June 2019 you should go to www.gocontigo.com/recall to order a free replacement lid.
The faulty bottles have a black spout base and spout cover.
