33 year old Marcia McTaggart is a stay-at-home mom with 2 boys ages 5 and 3 and lives in Huntsville, AL.
After gaining weight following the birth of her sons she began to feel uncomfortable in her own skin. As a result she says “I had become a miserable person to be around”.
Now after discovering The Healthy Mommy she has not only started losing weight and gaining confidence, she says The Healthy Mommy is changing her mind, body and spirit for the better. She shares her INSPIRING story below.
“I was miserable to be around”
Marcia says “One year ago, I had no idea anything like The Healthy Mommy existed.
I’ve been on every yo-yo diet you can think of. I’d would workout for a while and get results, then I would get injured or just get bored and I’d stop.
As far as diet goes….same story. I’d cook/eat healthy for a while. Then I’d get bored or feel deprived of things like sweets and then just binge and say forget it!
I was tired, unhappy with myself, didn’t care what I ate, and it showed.
I was fed up with clothes not fitting and being very uncomfortable in my skin.
My husband and I also began suffering with acid reflux and we were both very uncomfortable.
In general, I was MISERABLE to be around.
“I wanted to be healthy for my kids”
Thankfully Marcia and her husband made a commitment to change their lifestyle. She says “I just wanted to be healthy for myself and my kids.
What appealed to me about The Healthy Mommy was just the ease of it.
The meal plan was provided, all I had to do was do a few adjustments for things I don’t like/can’t eat (seafood I hate, I can’t have gluten at all)”.
Joining The Healthy Mommy 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge
Since joining the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges 2 months ago Marcia says “I’m amazed at my results”.
She says “These photos are a year apart but most of the changes have happened in the last 2 months since I started following The Healthy Mommy 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges!”.
The HUGE impact of simply changing what you eat
Marcia says “It’s so crazy to see the difference, food alone can make.
I haven’t been super focused on workouts the last couple of weeks….but focused on fixing my food habits”.
As a 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge member Marcia receives a monthly meal plan via the Challenge App on her phone in addition to thousands of delicious recipes that she can swap around to suit her and her family’s personal taste. In addition she gains access to a wide variety of exercise videos that she can follow in the comfort of her home.
With so many delicious recipes to choose from Marcia will never run out of exciting and delicious meals to enjoy.
Marcia says “I’m SO much happier because I’m fueling my body with the RIGHT food, and it’s delicious.
My favorite meal is by far the Chicken, Bacon, and Spinach stir fry! And my favorite snack is the low carb peanut butter cups!
Preparing for weight loss success
As a Challenge member Marcia has learnt the benefits of meal prepping and how it can positively impact your weight loss success.
She says “We had soccer practice tonight….and hubby and I are coaching.
I knew we would be late getting home and we are still getting used to a school schedule, so to avoid the temptation to just go through a drive-thru somewhere (where we would probably end up with a burger and fries), I took some time this afternoon to pre-make dinner from a recipe on the Challenge App.
All we had to do when we got home was warm it up and steam some broccoli (which took all of 5 minutes). And this dinner was DELICIOUS, as well as kid and hubby approved!
Weight loss results – 12 lbs in 2 months
12 lbs weight loss and down one dress size (from a tight size 14/16 to a loose 12)
Marcia says weight loss is just one of the benefits of The Healthy Mommy 28 Challenge but it is how it is making her feel on the inside.
“I was so unhappy with myself, but now I am gaining confidence I never thought I’d have!
I’m learning to love myself again and appreciate what my body has done for me (I gave birth to 2 beautiful boys). I feel good about myself again!
It’s allowing me to eat DELICIOUS food that’s easy to make and lose weight!
I’m so thankful I found The Healthy Mommy!”.

I’ve got a ways to go (I have a goal to lose another 15-20lbs), but I AM WORTH IT!!!
