3 AWESOME weight loss tips from a mom who has lost 28 lb in 7 months
Gorgeous mom-of-2 Cindy’s waistline has been shrinking before our very eyes. Losing 28 lb in 7 months all thanks to The Healthy Mommy 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges.
She shares 3 AWESOME tips to help moms who are just getting started on their weight loss journey.
Cindy has had fantastic results with The Healthy Mommy 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges over the last 6 years following the birth of both her first and her second child.
She first joined the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges when her son was 6 months old and successfully lost 55 pounds.
Then she had her second child and continued her Healthy Mommy journey losing another 55 pounds.
She maintained her weight loss for a few years but says that after a very stressful time (moving internationally) her healthy habits started slipping, so she restarted her Healthy Mommy journey in January this year.
Getting started – What was your motivation?
“My motivation this time round came from a wake up call at the doctors when I was told I had high blood pressure. Thankfully after 6 months living The Healthy Mommy lifestyle, my blood pressure is now back to normal”.
Weight loss results 28 lbs in 7 months
“I have lost 28 pounds over the last 7 months”.
“My weight in the before photo taken January 2nd 2019, is 202lbs.
My current weight (also in that photo) is 174lbs. Taken last week, August 14th 2019. So over about 7 months”.
What are your eating habits exercise routine like now?
“I do 30 mins of Healthy Mommy exercises from the Challenge App about 4 days a week and lots of walking”.
Favorite snacks and meals from the Challenge App?
“My favourite Healthy Mommy meal changes all the time. At the moment it’s the chicken taco salad”.

Cindy’s tips for getting started with your weight loss journey
1. Start by setting yourself some realistic goals. Write down your goals and reflect on them regularly. I suggest you have goals that are also not related to the number on the scales. Think about your weaknesses and plan a goal around them.
2. Get your kids involved. Having the family on board will help you feel supported and also stick to the plan. For example: I have every family member help choose one meal for the week.
If you’re just starting out think of things your kids already love – such as pizza, burgers, chicken nuggets, spaghetti. The Healthy Mommy has healthy versions of all of these meals.
Have the kids help in the kitchen and they will be excited about the food too.
3. With exercise, if you’re starting out just start with walking– walking is great physical exercise and also great for the mind.

Then you can choose to increase your workouts as you get more active.
I find the exercises in The Healthy Mommy App great if you don’t really know what you’re doing and if you’re not a fan of the gym.
